JCB Service Built for the Next 8,000 Hours On-site

From track-shoe pre-tension to slew-bearing rebuild, JCB dealers keep backhoe loaders, telehandlers and excavators earning on the haul road with a 250 / 500 / 1000 hour cadence and mean-time-to-repair under 18 hours on contracted sites.

Service pillars

Three service lanes fleet managers actually schedule

Utility and quarry contractors lose money when a backhoe or telehandler sits waiting for seals. These lanes map to the intervals your equipment managers already write into project calendars — with ISO 4406 oil sampling and undercarriage pin-gauge evidence attached to every visit report.

Pre-delivery Commissioning

Hydraulic flow test, rear-dipper pin torque audit and pilot-pressure baseline logged before the machine leaves the dealer yard — so warranty claims start from a documented reference, not a guess. We also verify Tier 4 Final DEF plumbing and road-legal lighting before the first haul to site.

Scheduled Field PM

Undercarriage tension, Tier 4 Final emissions audit and boom pin & bushing rotation on a 250 / 500 / 1000 hour cadence sized for utility dig-and-load fleets. Return-line filters are swapped when particle counts drift outside ISO 4406 18/16/13 so load-sensing pumps stay healthy on sandy corridors.

Major Overhaul & Rebuild

Cylinder reseal, final-drive swap and cab vibration calibration at 8,000 hours — keeps resale value above wholesale book when the next bid package arrives. OEM-equivalent track groups and bucket teeth kits are staged at regional hubs so the machine reactivates on the same jobsite instead of a distant workshop.

Service interval walkthrough

  1. 01

    Pre-delivery

Track-shoe pre-tension and pilot-pressure baseline logged for warranty.

  2. 02

    250h First Check

Hydraulic-return filter swap, oil sample to ISO 4406 cleanliness lab.

  3. 03

    500h Fluid Swap

Engine, hydraulic and axle oils replaced; slew ring re-greased.

  4. 04

    1000h Major PM

Boom & arm pin clearance gauged; cab ROPS torque audited.

  5. 05

    8000h Rebuild

Undercarriage rebuild, cylinder reseal, on-site machine reactivation.

Service boundaries we state up front: the <18 h MTTR target applies to contracted sites inside the dealer radius with pre-staged seals and filters — remote or non-contracted sites follow the next available FSE window. ISO 4406 sampling is a cleanliness control, not proof that every auxiliary valve will survive abrasive quarry dust without filter discipline. Final-drive and undercarriage rebuild quotes require a pin-gauge survey; we do not issue flat catalog prices for 8,000-hour track groups without wear evidence.

Schedule a fleet PM audit on your installed base

We benchmark undercarriage wear, hydraulic cleanliness and Tier 4 emissions against reference contractors running similar haul-road kilometers and dig-and-load cycles. Ask for an undercarriage wear survey or a parts stocking plan sized to your shift pattern. Tell us fleet size, average annual hours and whether sites require EPA Tier 4 Final or EU Stage V evidence in the bid pack — our dealers reply with a staged parts list and a recommended PM calendar you can paste into the project schedule.
